[origin: WO2006002605A1] The invention relates to a flat seal (1) comprising at least one metallic layer, which is provided with several openings (2) that are interspaced by bridges (3), at least one profiled section (4) being situated at least in some sections of the region of one of the layers on the side of the openings. Said seal is characterised in that the profiled section surrounds the respective opening, whilst maintaining an approximately constant cross-section and that a section with a different profile (5) is provided in the region of the respective bridge (3) over a predetermined circumferential angle (a), to increase the pressure in said region.
