Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1762694A2] The ladder (1), made from tubular metal rungs (4) and uprights (2, 3), has the ends of the rungs made with a smaller cross-section than their central sections, with stepped coupling zones between them. The rung ends have oblong cross-sections and are inserted through matching holes in the ladder uprights before being fixed in place by having their outer edges rolled or crimped. In addition, the outer surfaces of the rungs are grooved to make them non-slip.
