[origin: WO2006008414A1] A skin treatment device uses a light source (26) constituted of a low-pressure xenon discharge tube or of any other gas that permits the generation of luminous discharge. The method for parametering this device comprises the following steps consisting of: acquiring image data from an area of the skin (50) by means of a color CCD camera (4); extracting luminance and chrominance data; weighting these data with the items of information specific to a treated individual, and; calculating the parameters of the light source from the obtained weighted data.
