[origin: WO2006002452A1] The invention relates to a RAMAN spectroscopic method and device (1) in which a laser beam (10) is directed, within a certain measurement range (12), onto a sample containing a solid or liquid target material, e.g. organic material, that is dispersed or suspended in a carrier liquid, whereupon radiation that is emitted by said sample and is specific for the same is detected, an ultrasonic standing wave field being generated in the measurement range (12). The solid or liquid target material, such as yeast cells, is retained on pressure node planes (26) or velocity node planes of the ultrasonic standing wave field, optionally after being agglomerated, and the laser beam (10) is directed onto the retained solid or liquid target material and/or onto points located next to the solid or liquid target material.
