[origin: EP1764137A2] The snow board, especially a ski, with a shell (4) in three-dimensional form consisting of a surface layer and backing layer beneath it, has the flat material which forms the backing layer, together with the surface layer, formed by pressure molding into the 3D shape of the shell, and the flat or supporting material which forms the backing layer is slotted in sharply curved regions (13) of the 3D shape. An independent claim is included for a method for the manufacture of a ski in which the shell is formed into a 3D shape.
