Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1764196A2] The method for separating strips of labels (24) from a continuous band (10) comprises transverse cutting of the band up to a short distance from the edges. Longitudinal cuts are then made to separate the narrow strips (76, 78) remaining from the label strips. An independent claim is included for a machine for carrying out the method with a transverse cutter which operates in such a way that the narrow strips cannot be cut transversely.
