Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1764777A2] The device has a matrix display (1) with a set of pixels (2), and a non-volatile memory (6) for storing a control value for the pixels to produce a grey-image representation in a partial area of the display. A computing unit (5) changes the control value for the adjoining pixels for producing a color image representation by a computing operation. A frame buffer (3) stores the changed control value for the display in the matrix display. A graphics controller (4) evaluates the computing operation and/or the grey-image representation based on an instruction. An independent claim is also included for a method of displaying a color image in a partial area of a matrix display.
