Abstract (en)

Switching device has switch contact (51) producing single or multipolar electrical connection between input and output sides of current connection and an electrically controllable gas generator for opening of respective electrical connection. Switching device has measuring means for direct or indirect collection of electric currents through pole (1) and outputting means for actuator for opening of electrical connection. An electrically controllable actuator (6,7) exhibits tappet (61,71) which is activated through gas generator. The tappet on contact lever (101) impinges upon switch contact and on components (8,41) of switching operation e.g. the selector shaft (85) or mechanical connecting elements (81-84,86,87). During electronic actuation of a gas generator, opening of respective electrical connection is affected with an electronic trip unit. An independent claim is also included for an electrically controllable actuator.
