Abstract (en)
[origin: DE102004033585A1] To determine a color shade automatically, at least one color to be assessed is scanned by a computer and displayed together with one or more reference colors. The reference colors are taken from the gray stages G1-G6, red, yellow, blue, white and/or black. A computer program reads the displayed data, and compares them with at least a part of stored reference colors with an automatic evaluation of the comparison. A calibration chart (1) is used, with an opening (2) for the pattern color, and squares (3) of colors and squares (5) of application oriented color references. A ring (4) of contrast values is on the chart. The opening is placed over the colored material to be assessed by scanning.
