[origin: WO2006005285A1] Disclosed is a scanning device for measuring the contours of an object. Said scanning device comprises a laser light source (10, 11) for generating two scanning beams (5, 5'). Said scanning beams (5, 5') are deflected in opposite directions on a reflecting arrangement located in the scanning device such that two scanning beams (5, 5') which extend in different directions as well as two received beams (16, 31) that are reflected from different directions are obtained with the aid of the deflecting unit (8) in a control and evaluation unit in order to calculate the coordinates of the surface segments (15) irradiated by the scanning beams (5, 5').
