[origin: WO2005108254A1] The invention relates to a method for unloading a roll of material (08) from a roll changer (01) of a web-processing machine. Said roll changer comprises at least one first roll arm (02) and one second roll arm (03) having one axle journal (04, 06) each on which the roll of material is rotatably received. The first roll arm is displaced outward until the first end of the roll of material is stripped off the first axle journal (04). The second roll arm is then additionally displaced outward until the second end of the roll of material is stripped off the second axle journal (06).
