Abstract (en)
In a process to make corrosion-resistant sheet steel with properties suitable for selected applications, the sheet steel is coated with a layer of zinc, followed by mechanical or chemical cleaning. Immediately following the cleaning process, the zinc-coated sheet steel is coated using magnesium vapor deposition prior to hot galvanization at 335-359C. Hot galvanization forms a diffusion or convection layer between the zinc and magnesium layers.
