Abstract (en)
Knitting machine needle comprises a shaft with a terminal hook (3) that forms a 180[deg] bend and tapers to a tip (12), and a latchet (6) that pivots on a bearing (9) on the breast of the needle between a closed position and a rearward position. Between the hook and the latchet bearing, the shaft has an angle of inclination, defined as the angle between any point on the shaft contour (17) and a line parallel to the back (16) of the needle, that always decreases in the direction of the breast (7) of the needle.
