Abstract (en)
The housing (1), which forms the container (2) for the wash water, supports the drum in bearings mounted in the end wall (3). This region is reinforced by a fiber mat (6) so that the bearing hub (5a) or the support spider are at least partially covered. The reinforcing mat need not be flat but can be contoured to follow the outline of the spider or hub. Independent claims included for the following: (1) A manufacturing process in which the reinforcing mat is placed into the injection molding mold after which the metallic spider or hub is added before the mold is closed; (2) A corresponding process in which the reinforcing mat is placed round the spider or hub and they or both placed in the mold together.
