[origin: EP1619850A1] A method for setting up a multi-homed link (208) with a number (n) paths between two components (102,112) of a communication network (100, 200) in which the components each have at least (n) communication addresses (204A, 204B, 114A,114B) and in which in the connection path an inversion/conversion of the communication addresses takes place at least of one of the first components (102), has the following procedural steps i.e. ascertaining (n) conversion relationships of the communication addresses provided for the n paths by the components, and set up the multi-homed link by forming the (n) paths on the basis of the ascertained conversion relationships. An independent claim is included for components of a communication network.
