Abstract (en)
Sports shoe comprises an outsole (2) and an upper (3) with a seat (30) receiving the wearer's heel. A stiffener extends from the rear of wearer's heel forwardly along the medial and lateral sides of the upper. An arrangement varies the size of the heel seat by moving the stiffener between an expanded position where the seat size is large for the heel and a retracted position where the heel seat size is reduced. It comprises a localized weakening mechanism and a constricting device having a reversible tightening mechanism (48) for moving stiffener to its retracted position.
