[origin: EP1769909A1] The surface of a printing form is sprayed with an imaging material having a resolution lower than the resolution of the image to be printed. The printing image data present in a high resolution are used to generate low-resolution data where the spraying of the imaging material is based on. The imaging material surface is exposed with the effect of a laser exposure process in a resolution corresponding to the image to be printed. Unexposed imaging material is removed from the surface of the printing form with the effect of a cleaning process using a damping solution and a cleaning cloth.
