Abstract (en)
The apparatus has a stitching carriage (10) conveying a stack of foldable signatures, and a stitching head (30) shaping and driving a staple into the stack of signatures. A clinch box (15) is configured for closing the staple driven through the signatures, and a controller (90) drives a drive (70). An actuating device for vertical displacement of the head is configured to adapt the apparatus to thickness of signatures. The actuating device includes a swinging arm (50) for vertical adjustment of the head and another swinging arm (55) for controlling movement sequences of the head.
