Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006010506A1] The invention relates to an exhaust gas system (1), especially for the internal combustion engine (2) of a motor vehicle. Said exhaust gas system (1) comprises a nitrogen reduction catalyst (5) disposed in the exhaust gas line (4) of the internal combustion engine (2), an exhaust gas cleaning device (6) mounted upstream of the nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst (5), and a reducing agent feed device (12) for feeding a reducing agent to the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine (2) upstream of the nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst (5). The invention is characterized in that the exhaust gas system (1) is provided with a bypass line (11) which branches off from the exhaust gas line (4) at a branching (9) upstream of the exhaust gas cleaning device (6) and runs into the exhaust gas line (4) downstream of the exhaust gas cleaning device (6) and upstream of the nitrogen reduction catalyst (5). The inventive exhaust gas system (1) is especially suitable for use in utility vehicles.
