[origin: EP1772272A2] An ink cartridge is provided the ink cartridge including a case, which is provided with an ink chamber being configured to store ink therein, the ink cartridge being configured to supply the ink stored in the ink chamber to an ink jet recording apparatus when the ink cartridge is installed in the ink jet recording apparatus, the ink cartridge comprising: an ink supply part projecting outwardly from an end surface of the case, the ink supply part configured to supply the ink in the ink chamber to the ink jet recording apparatus; and a pair of projections connected to the case, the pair of projections projecting outwardly in the same direction as the ink supply part projects, the pair of projections projecting outwardly further than the ink supply part projects, wherein the pair of projections comprises a first projection and a second projection, and the first projection and the second projection are disposed on both sides of the ink supply part.
