Abstract (en)
A discharge lamp lighting device includes a microcomputer (18) which outputs a reference voltage value V S2 corresponding to lamp power at the full-lighting time which corresponds to lamp voltage at the input time of a full-lighting signal and outputs a reference voltage value V S2 corresponding to lamp power at the dimming time based on values "a" and "b" corresponding to a dimming light amount, lamp voltage and lamp power at the full-lighting time when a dimming signal is input, output means (30) for detecting voltage corresponding to lamp voltage by use of resistors (10, 11), detecting voltage corresponding to a lamp current by use of a resistor (9) to output a voltage value V S1 , and a controller (15) which controls a voltage step-down chopper circuit (4) based on the voltage value V S1 and reference voltage value V S2 .
