[origin: WO2006005208A1] The inventive detection terminal of a vehicle comprises a power supply (2), a magnetic sensor (3) and a signal capturing, processing and generating electronic unit (5) which receives a first signal transmitted by the magnetic sensor (3) which is representative of the earth's magnetic field variation induced by a vehicle (7), placed at a distance from the magnetic sensor (3) and which generates a detection signal when the variation detected by the magnetic sensor pertains to a predetermined variation for a given distance between the vehicle and the magnetic sensor (3). According to the invention, the terminal comprises a wave transmitting and reflecting range finder (9) which transmits a second signal which is representative of a distance between the vehicle (7) and the range finder (9) to the electronic unit (5) in a direction of observation (13) for which the transmitted waves are reflected by the vehicle (7) and the electronic unit (5) generates the detection signal when the distance detected by the range finder (9) corresponds to the given distance in relation to the magnetic sensor (3).
