[origin: WO2006010563A1] Disclosed is a bimetallic thermal switch comprising an electrically insulating support (2) and a bimetallic contact spring (4) that is supported by said electrically insulating support (2) and is provided with two ends, one of which is fixed. At least one subarea (4a) of said contact spring (4) is shaped so as to rapidly change the curvature thereof when the switching temperature thereof is exceeded. The inventive bimetallic thermal switch further comprises two electrical feeders (8, 9) which are supported by the insulating support (2) and extend to two contact pieces (6, 7) that are separated from each other and from the contact spring (4), as well as a contact bridge (5) which is mounted on the contact spring (4) opposite the two contact pieces (6, 7).
