[origin: WO2005094673A1] The invention relates to a medical chest belt comprising a signal detection unit for detecting electrical signals on a body surface, two electrodes which face the chest, are non-adhesive, and are provided with a reinforcement layer that is electrically conductive on the side facing the body and is capable of absorbing and eliminating water, as well as a reference electrode located on the rear face. Said reference electrode is embodied so as to cover a large area and in a flexible manner such that moisture eliminated by the body accumulates between the reference electrode and the body while creating low transition resistance between the body and the reference electrode.
