[origin: WO2006015715A1] The invention relates to the use of PDE 5 inhibitors, and especially of known 2-phenyl-substituted imidazotriazinone derivatives for producing medicaments for the treatment of symptoms that can be treated by increasing cGMP levels in certain tissues, such as acute myocardial infarction and damage caused by reperfusion, various symptoms in the female and male reproductive system and urogenital tract, gastrointestinal diseases, damage caused by diabetes, and liver failure.
