[origin: WO2006015580A1] The invention relates to a piezoelectric transformer comprising a base body containing a piezoelectric material. The piezoelectric material is polarised in an inlet part (1) of the base body, along a first axis, and in an outlet part (2) of the base body, along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. The polarisation of the piezoelectric material gradually changes direction in a transition region between the inlet part and the outlet part, from a polarisation along the first axis to a polarisation along the second axis.
