Abstract (en)

Press arrangement for dewatering a paper web comprises a first nip through which the web passes between two water-absorbing dewatering belts (3, 4), a second nip through which the web passes between a water-absorbing dewatering belt (5) and a smooth transfer belt (6), and a third nip comprising a speed-controlled suction roll (16) in contact with a water-absorbing dewatering belt (8) and a driven calender roll (15) in contact with the web on the side opposite to belt (6).
