Gravity die casting plant comprises at least one die, a reservoir for metal melt and metering and/or mixing device (11, 12, 13) between the reservoir and the die for metering and mixing a foam-generating medium with the melt. At least one gate box (7) is arranged between the die and the reservoir, and the metering and mixing device is arranged in the gate box. The metering and mixing device for metering and mixing the foam-generating medium with the melt is arranged in gate regions of the gate box. An independent claim is included for a method for the production of metal-foam moldings in a gravity die casting plant.

Es wird eine Kokillengiessanlage (1) für Metallschaumformteile vorgeschlagen umfassend mindestens eine Kokille (2,3,4), einen Vorratsbehälter (16) für die Metallschmelze und mindestens eine Dosier- und Mischvorrichtung (11,12,13) zum Dosieren und Mischen des Schaum erzeugenden Mediums mit der Schmelze, wobei zwischen der Kokille (2,3,4) und dem Vorratsbehälter (16) mindestens eine Angussbox (7) angeordnet ist und wobei die Dosier- und Mischvorrichtung (11,12,13) in der Angussbox (7) angeordnet ist. Anstelle der Kokille kann auch ein Profil oder ein Gussformteil verwendet werden. Es wird auch ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Metallschaumformteile vorgeschlagen.
