Abstract (en)

The apparatus has a saddle plate (10) disposed on a circulating conveyor which moves the plate vertically upward. The plate is arranged to receive a book block (2) in a straddle like fashion with adhesive-coated outside surfaces being exposed. A pressing-on device (5) operates synchronously with the conveyor. The conveyor has two pressing-on rollers positioned opposite to each other in a pressing-on region. Drive motors are coupled with the pressing-on device and conveyor. A control unit (27) is operatively coupled to drives, where the drives include a controllable drive element.
