[origin: WO2006010708A1] The invention relates to a thread and gear milling machine (1), characterised by the following features: a first rotational axis (X1) for a thread cutter (2), a second rotational axis (Y1) for a gear cutter (3), a spindle (61), for rotating a workpiece (6) about a third axis (X), whereby the thread cutter and the gear cutter are fixed to a common module (5) and driven in rotation by a common motor (50). Said module (5) may be pivoted between at least one first (A) and at least one second machining position (B), such that in said first machining position (A),said first rotational axis (X1) forms an angle (a) to said third rotational axis (X), in order to machine the workpiece (6) with said thread cutter (2) and said second rotational axis (Y1) maybe pivoted about an angle (a) to permit machining of said workpiece (6) in said second machining position (B) with said gear cutter (3).
