Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2006010572A1] The invention relates to a coated arc splitter made of a ferromagnetic material for use in an arcing chamber. The invention provides that the arc splitter has a layer made of a composite material consisting of at least two constituents of which the first constituent is electrically conductive, has a melting point which does not exceed that of the ferromagnetic material, and has a vaporization point which does not exceed that of the ferromagnetic material, and of which the second component has a melting point higher than that of the first constituent, and has a vaporization point higher than that of the first constituent.
