[origin: EP1783434A2] The arrangement has temperature sensors (24a, 24b, 24c, 27) e.g. resistance sensors, arranged in different areas of an electrical appliance (12) within an area of a built-in furniture comprising floor units (21a, 21b), to detect the surrounding temperature of the appliance and/or the heat supplied in the furniture. The sensor (24a) is arranged at a distance in the appliance using a retainer (25a) e.g. swivel arm or a telescopic arm, where the retainer adjusts the distance of the sensors from the appliance. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling an electric appliance.
