[origin: WO2006021498A1] The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner comprising a housing and a motor/fan unit which is connected to the suction side of a dust chamber of a dust collecting device and to the pressure side of an exhaust opening, in addition to a valve body which is mounted in a valve housing such that it can move from a prestressed closing position, when a predetermined low pressure is reached, to an open position. The valve housing is arranged in an adjacent air channel which is fludically connected to the suction side of the motor/fan unit and is impinged upon by ambient pressure. The aim of the invention is to produce a vacuum cleaner having a low pressure valve, which can be mounted in a simple and reliable manner and the low pressure valve is embodied such that it can function in a reliable manner. According to the invention, the valve housing (12, 24) is arranged on at least one housing part (1, 22) of the vacuum cleaner.
