[origin: WO2006016201A1] The invention relates to a door closure device for an electric furnace, which is designed to seal same. The invention comprises a conical or prismatic metallic closure which is cooled with water and which is positioned in a same-shaped housing that is located at the top of the chamber of the electric furnace. The door closure, which is handled using an arm that is fixed to a rotary bar or a carriage, is applied against the four faces of the aforementioned housing and appears inside the furnace. The movements of the door closure can be controlled such that it can follow the upper part of the housing while leaving a space between the door closure and the door sill so as to enable deslagging.
