[origin: EP1785196A1] The paint application roller has a hard roller core (60) and one or more lengths of hose (62a, 62b, 62c, 62d) with an elastic layer (66) round the core. The lengths of hose support a shell (68) radially from the inside. The shell applies the paint or lacquer. There may be a radially projecting flange (72, 74) projecting beyond the surface of the roller core on at lease one endface of the roller.
