[origin: GB2416287A] A band or bandage or dressing which is water-soluble, water dispersible or biodegradable, and which may be attached to a tree, a shrub or any other type of plant. The device may incorporate one or more active ingredients, which may be in the form of a fungicide, a bactericide, a disinfectant, a biocide, a plant stimulant, a micro-nutrient, a fertiliser, an insecticide, a molluscicide, a plant growth regulator or even a herbicide. The dressing may be self adhesive and in the form of a tape or a label. The active ingredient may be incorporated into the adhesive formulation. The dressing may also be in the form of a gel which may be applied to the cut end of a flower stem or a plant cutting.
