Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006016802A2] The invention relates to a furniture system (1) comprising rectangular panel-shaped elements (2) with parallel bearing surfaces and end sides in which in each case two end sides opposite one another of a panel-shaped element (2) bear against rectangular coupling parts (4) under tension and the tension between the end sides and the coupling parts (4) is effected by at least one partial tie rod (16) which runs parallel to the bearing surfaces and which is secured in and tensioned relative to the corresponding coupling parts (4) by means of coupling nuts (17), one coupling nut (17) being able to accommodate the ends of two partial tie rods (16) in line with one another and tie rods extending in the furniture system (1) over the entire height and width which are composed of said partial tie rods (16), each coupling part (4) comprising through openings, in each of which a coupling nut (17) is provided in a rotatable and non-removable manner. The invention also relates to a coupling part for connecting panel-shaped elements to one another by means of tie rods, which coupling part can also be used in the furniture system described above and/or forms part thereof.
