Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2006024280A1] Disclosed is a fuel filter comprising a filter housing for a combustion engine in which water that is eliminated from the fuel can accumulate within the filter. The aim of the invention is to create a filter which can collect as much eliminated water as possible while keeping the volume of the filter as small as possible. Said aim is achieved by a fuel filter featuring the following characteristics: - a duct (3) extends from an area of the filter housing which is impinged upon by fuel and in which eliminated water can settle as a result of gravitational forces, into a water collecting chamber (4) located outside the filter housing; - a top area of the water collecting chamber (4) is connected to a fuel supply pipe (1) of the combustion engine via a connecting conduit (5) that is mounted there.
