The device has a printing plate storage with storage spaces for printing plate (3) that is attached to a form cylinder, and a detector to detect the plate and to output detection signals to an identification device (101) e.g. barcode reader. The device (101) is provided outside the storage for receiving, processing and storage of information identified by the plate. The device (101) detects whether the plate is provided on the spaces that are assigned to the plate based on comparison of the information and the received detection signals. An independent claim is also included for a method for verification of storage of a printing plate on its assigned storage space of a printing plate storage of a rotary-printing press or a rotary roller printing press.

Druckformzuordnungseinrichtung für einen oder mehrere Formzylinder einer Rotationsdruckmaschine, mit einem Druckformspeicher (10) mit Speicherplätzen (102a) für auf dem Formzylinder aufbringbare Druckformen (1), einem Detektor (104) pro Speicherplatz (102a) für die Detektion einer jeweils den Speicherplatz (102a) einnehmenden Druckform (1) und Ausgabe eines Detektionssignals, wobei sich außerhalb des Druckformspeichers (10) eine Identifikationseinrichtung (101) zur Aufnahme, Verarbeitung und Speicherung von die Druckformen (1) jeweils individuell identifizierenden Informationen befindet, die Detektionssignale der Detektoren (104) der Identifikationseinrichtung (101) zugeführt werden und die Identifikationseinrichtung (101) aufgrund eines Vergleichs der von den Druckformen (1) aufgenommenen Informationen und der empfangenen Detektionssignale erkennt, ob die Druckformen (1) sich auf den ihnen jeweils zugeordneten Speicherplätzen (102a) befinden.
