[origin: EP1788132A1] A thread guide (1) for a flat-bed knitting machine which can be pushed along a guide rail by a pick-up on the machine slide, with a thread guide arm (7) which can be moved from its working position to a non-operating position and back, and with pick-up contact surfaces (23, 24) for the guide (1) and switching contact surfaces (41-44) for turning the arm (7) into and out of the working position, in which these surfaces (23, 24; 41-44) are arranged in different planes (E1, E2, E3) across the direction of movement of (1).
