Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1788216A1] The device (5) has two inlets (7, 8) and outlets (9, 10) communicating with one another through an interior (11) of a housing (6). A main direction of flow (13) leads from the inlets to the outlets within respective exhaust lines (2, 3). The housing is assembled from two identical half-shells that have a parting plane. The parting plane extends across the main direction of flow, but does not extend through the inlet and the outlet. The half-shells are configured to be placed one inside another in the main direction of the flow, where plug-in areas of the shells are mutually overlapped. An independent claim is also included for an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine.
