[origin: WO2006018675A1] A ventilator (2) capable of supplying fresh air in combination with heating and/or cooling for a ventilated room is provided. The ventilator comprises at least two blowers (6), a heat exchanger (8), a motorised damper (4) and a microprocessor (12) for cross-flow controlling the ventilator. A method for controlling a ventilator by adjusting the rotational speed of the cross-flow blowers, the opening of the damper and optionally the opening of a motorised valve controlling the flow rate of heat transfer medium is also provided. In preferred embodiments, the method further comprises thermal protection to prevent frost damage and boost of temperature or fresh air.
