[origin: WO2006018191A1] A sensor device for optically measuring at least two different physical properties of sheet-type materials, especially banknotes (100), comprises a common measuring window (2) onto which at least two different electromagnetic types of radiation (B1, B2), suitable for measuring the different properties, are directed. One or more detectors (D1-D3) directed onto the measuring window detect reflected, remitted, transmitted and/or fluorescent radiation. A magneto-optical transducer (5) for detecting magnetic properties of the sheet-type material can especially be arranged in the measuring window and is, due to a dichroic mirror coating (5c), reflective for the magneto-optical measuring radiation wavelength and transmissive for other measuring radiation wavelengths. The multifunctional sensor system according to the invention is compact and yet allows to examine the most varied physical properties.
