Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006029975A2] The invention concerns plug connectors for an electronic board guaranteeing both an electrical as well as optical connection. These connectors are, more specifically, dedicated to aeronautical applications. The invention relates to a plug connector (1) for an electronic board (4) comprising a mechanical mount (10), electric contacts (7) and at least one rigid optical contact (11) placed in a seat of the mechanical mount, the optical contact being essentially comprised of one or two optomechanical ferrules. The inventive plug connector makes it possible to avoid the use of linking optical fibers between the plug connector and the optoelectronic conversion modules while eliminating the drawbacks associated with the integration of optoelectronic conversion devices in the plug connector.
