Abstract (en)
A weft insertion nozzle has an air-pressure activated yarn clamp (7) to prevent the yarn (2) jumping back. The clamp is controlled by a valve (8), which can also operate the air jet (3) from a common air supply line (8b). The action can be switched manually (8a) between clamp and jet. In a loom with several weft insertion nozzles, each is equipped with a clamp and control valve mounted on the nozzle. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) A method threading-up a loom by inserting the yarn with the help of the jet (3) while the clamp is open and then closing the clamp as the jet is switched off; (2) A loom equipped with weft insertion nozzles of this kind.
