[origin: WO2006041348A1] A blank (1) for an axle beam (Ia) intended to support a wheel axle, which blank (1) is formed from a continuous piece and, at its respective ends (9, 10), has, on the one hand, a bushing (11, 12) constituting a bearing for a kingpin (33) for supporting a wheel spindle (31a, 31b) and, on the other hand, lug-shaped protrusions on each side of the bushing, and a wheel axle made from such a blank. The object of the invention is to obtain a blank which is suitable both for steerable and non- steerable wheel axles for vehicles .
