[origin: WO2006003119A1] Process to prepare an iso-paraffinic base oil having an improved seal swelling properties by subjecting a mixture of (i) a petroleum derived feed having a pour point below -5 °C, an aromatic content of between 0 and 20 wt% and a naphthenic compound content of between 15 and 90 wt% and (ii) a Fischer-Tropsch derived feed to a catalytic pour point reducing treatment and wherein the content of the petroleum derived feed (i) in the mixture is between 5 and 50 wt%. The invention is also directed to the use of the base oils thus obtained in gear oil and hydraulic oil application.
