Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006024562A1] The invention relates to the use of zinc pyrithion for finishing woven and nonwoven textiles against infestation of house dust mites. Zinc pyrithion is used alone or in combination with other active substances with or without other textile chemicals. The formulations containing zinc pyrithion are applied to the textiles using the standard procedures of textile finishing whereby resulting in a concentration of preferably 1000 to 6000 ppm of zinc pyrithion on the textile. During testing, it is established that a distinctly reduced mite population on uncoated flat textiles is achieved. In ideal finishings, the mite population is even completely eliminated.
