[origin: DE102004043529B3] Process for controlling the mixture of a multicylindered Otto engine comprises a cylinder-related lambda control with a cylinder-related controlled stimulation through which a periodic fluctuation in the form of lean mixture and rich mixture half waves modulates a mean nominal lambda value. For a linear number of cylinders of the cylinder bank, the cylinder-related forced stimulation for half of the cylinders (Z1-Z4) is carried out in the opposite direction to that for the other half of the cylinders to balance the cylinder-related torque contributions. An independent claim is also included for an alternative process.
