Abstract (en)

The present invention is directed to a lubricating oil composition comprising (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity (b) a lithium-containing detergent (c) a detergent other than a lithium-containing detergent (d) an amine-containing anti-oxidant (e) an ethylene carbonate treated dispersant and (f) a phosphorus-containing anti-wear agent, wherein the lubricating oil composition contains no more than 0.1 weight percent of lithium and no more than 0.12 weight percent phosphorus, and provided the lubricating oil composition does not contain a calcium-containing detergent. The present invention is also directed to method for reducing catalyst poisoning in exhaust after treatment systems in internal combustion engines, which comprises operating the engine with the lubricating oil compositions of the present invention.
